One day I decided that dreams are made while I am awake and not while I am asleep.
There is a dream that is shared among globetrotters, a dream in which they can get away from their homes in the city center, disconnect from the world, turn off emails and telephones in exchange for a simpler environment, with only the forest or the sea. company. It is a life that many long for and could explain the increased presence of nature in contemporary culture today. The simplicity of an outdoor lifestyle is one that has been described as an overly romantic way of living life, connecting us to the way people lived in the "good old days." But no matter how you want to enjoy the outdoors, there is no more set of rules than to respect and enjoy the outdoors.
The passion for travel is gaining momentum that is creating a platform of opportunities for larger projects to be carried out, products to be developed, and brands to be built. An adventure is something that has endless starting points, but it is the very spirit of adventure that starts them all. It is defined by an experience that excites and challenges us and nature is kindly offered as the playground for us to live our adventure, no matter how big or small. It is the possibilities and starting points that hold the greatest excitement: the anticipation of buttoning up your wetsuit and paddling out into the early morning waves, unfolding a map and plotting a route, raising your hands in chalk before that first move. , packing her bag and loading the truck, looking up from below without being able to see the top, looking out of the tent on a crisp spring morning until the first step on her first hike.
These feelings you have just before you start are what keep globetrotters coming back day after day in search of the next adventure.
The spirit of friends who enjoy time together in nature, from camping to canoeing. Some will say that photography is important when it comes to capturing the spirit of adventure and the beauty of nature, others that it is not about capturing the moment to leave it in a memory but to live it and keep it in the memory.
It is the way a person has seen nature to live the adventure of his dreams, the relationship between nature and creativity is strong. What we are seeing in the movement is how creativity is present in everyone; not only in the creative elite, it is an open platform for all and natural. Flow we can see. We return from the great outdoors with a new perspective on our lives and our practices. The link between creativity and nature is obvious, but it is more than this. Most important is the effect that nature can have on a person's mental state and perspective. We are reconnecting with our history and our craft and hopefully we are preparing for the future with nature with a more present role in our lifestyles.
For me, nature and living an outdoor lifestyle has been the most inspiring presence in my short existence. There is nothing more exciting than seeing how it is affecting a new generation now. There are endless ways to experience it, and hopefully through the pages of this book you will feel encouraged enough to undertake the first of many adventures in nature or invite others to share their experiences. It is very easy to be an observer of this movement, but to really be a part of it, however you do it, is to take the first step out.
You, me and everyone else. The children wonder what is behind the next hill and started climbing chairs, stairs and other things before learning to walk. Because being an adventurer is not something you become, it is something you are when you are born. Nobody starts to climb or to be a globetrotter, it is a natural state of mind. But if you are careful in your daily life, you would quit smoking from the beginning. The school years, parental expectations, and the different demands of society slowly destroy your original spirit, and eventually you begin to behave in a civilized manner.
"We do not live to eat and have a salary. We eat and work in order to live. That is what life means and what life is for." Exploring is in your DNA. Your first ambition, beyond feeding yourself, was to go beyond yourself, to learn, to experiment, to climb. In a world with so many temptations, so many good and rational reasons to forget the child in you, to become a well-educated human being with few adequate ambitions, to consume in agreement and to contribute to the country. And forget that as a child you were happy playing without rules and believed that almost anything was possible. However, there is one thing that is even more important than all and that is rarely mentioned: exploring is a love story and very strong.
"The past and the future have no interest. I am living more and more in the present."
The moral luck of fortune has been a subject of study for years, but that is something else. Being lucky outdoors is not about being smarter than other people or having special physical prowess. On the contrary, luck is about how we behave, it is what we think and feel. Of course, it is possible to have pure luck to the extent that one achieves something simply as a result of chance. One of the most famous examples of this kind of luck is Duckberg's Gladstone Gander in Walt Disney's Donald Duck, who is always irritating and undeservedly lucky. Another example is Ringo Starr, who was in the right place at the right time. However, it is possible to wonder how random the match is.
You can plan your own death according to the philosopher Seneca. Conditions change, the time I have at my disposal is limited and each company depends on the time I have to act on the road. Anyway, unforeseen and shameful circumstances will arise, but the objective should be to limit them, or rather to prevent them. If I am successful in this regard, it will be possible that I have something left to solve the challenges that I did not expect.
Before traveling was leaving, disconnecting, today it is synonymous with not being but still falsely connected. When one travels, one begins to connect with another reality, other people, other situations, yes, but today technology still allows us to see photos and videos of friends and family in other parts of the world, making us feel all that serotonin as if we were there, connected .
Without neglecting, all these technologies that we use are always telling us something, who to look at more, what type of advertising to see, and they start filters on our profile, personality and tastes. Someone, who created this algorithm, is pigeonholing us in different squares to sell us and show us different things for when we feel dissatisfied with the reality that surrounds us.
In the past, much more was used to write, the emotions that had to be passed under certain circumstances were felt more. Loneliness is not the same when you have nothing as when you have at least someone to share it with. And today the first thought that passes without a filter is shared while we are in the bathroom.
The sale of oneself has reached a point where every human being on earth has followers, to whom he sells his point of view, his completely impersonalized lifestyle. Until people are no longer oneself, and they begin to sell that image that they make us be. As if everything were in a photograph or in the content of videos that are only really seen the moment you stop recording.
Technology is what defines the progress we have as humans on earth, it is what allows us to see at what mental level we are. We have made ships that reach the moon or the center of the earth, and we even have smarter gadgets in our hands than the computers that controlled wars a few years ago. So if it is the progress that we have mentally, knowing how to use it is fundamental for the learning that we have to pass on this path that we call life.
Making good use of our mind, body, and spirit (or energy) only happens by being one hundred percent in the present. Fighting and surrendering in the face of adversity. But never running away from her.
Today I do not escape, today I surrender to those who created beautiful platforms that unite so many people in the world, but at the same time disunite the ideal that I carry in my daily life. Industry, in every respect, is destroying, devastating, and collapsing, all of our natural resources. And I am against everything that destroys nature for an accumulation of profit.
Communities are the only ones who are going to save nature, because they are the ones who value the real cost of what it costs to live. It is not easy to live, it is not difficult either, you have to be wiser every day to know what and how to choose. The difference between Quality and Quantity is just one step away.
We will always work, the difference may lie in whether we are going to work for others, or are we going to dedicate our time to ourselves. There is nothing wrong with working for other people, as long as ideas, ethics and values are always shared. But when work is only part of your income, and you do not share ideas or values, the only thing that generates this is emotional, physical and mental wear and tear.
Do you want to escape the routine of work that wears you out? Do you want to stop paying rent and have fixed hours and start seeing the world?
How about camping as a lifestyle? Every day is yours to do exactly what you want, you can travel, work seasonally and accumulate various experiences for life. Once you've had a taste of that kind of freedom, it will be difficult to return to a 9:00 to 17:00 existence.
Before we see how this book is going to change your life and allow you to live the lifestyle you've always dreamed of, I must first congratulate you! You see, the fact that you have come as far as you are reading these words means that you are considering creating a life on your own terms, rather than assuming the one society has chosen for you.
At some point along the way we have become unbalanced as a society, we are under pressure to give more of ourselves than is healthy or sustainable; Burnout is inevitable! Most people struggle with the routine of life without even stopping to consider other ways of living. The fact that you are here, exploring an alternate path requires a certain level of courage, and it is a testament to the kind of person you are!
This book is here to act as the definitive guide to living a happy and healthy life in a vehicle, regardless of whether you are considering a series of short trips or a full-time lifestyle change. The information on these pages will answer everything that you have been deliberating and, more importantly, it will also answer the questions that you did not yet know you had to ask.
Life in vehicles is not new, people have been living mobile lifestyles since the invention of the wheel. The difference today is that social media has allowed “Van-Lifers” to create an endless stream of instantly leaked lives that have inspired a resurgence of interest in this lifestyle.
And why not? Living in vehicles presents an opportunity to explore more and for less, while embracing a minimalist lifestyle of simple living, allowing you to reduce your footprint. You can live outdoors, reconnect with nature, and ultimately have the opportunity to achieve the life you know you deserve. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?
Most people choose the life that is easier, the one with a definite path. We as human beings tend to bury our heads in our work and distract ourselves from the imbalance in our lives by buying material possessions, which ultimately offer false satisfaction.
We go to work all week, to pay for the house that we leave unoccupied all day and the car that awaits us outside our workplace. During our extremely limited time that we don't spend working, sleeping, traveling, and completing household chores, we are supposed to build a life for ourselves, if we have any energy left at all.
The good news is that there is a solution to this imbalance. By minimising your possessions, simplifying your life, and living in a vehicle, you will find that you need to spend less time working, have more time for your passions, and ultimately the freedom to pursue life that you might not otherwise be able to achieve.
But let's clarify one thing from the beginning. We are not here to sweeten life in vehicles. I firmly believe that living nomadically from a vehicle can and (if done correctly) will allow you to live a happy and enriched life. This can be done full-time or flexibly part-time to complement your current lifestyle.
However, we are not here to sell a one-sided "camper life" #hashtag promo. Yes, you can wake up to a view of champagne on a lemonade budget and that's a major factor why I've been doing this for several years. That being said, it is not always easy, in fact, sometimes it is a real challenge, and that is why I have put together this guide for you.
